What does TikTok Shop require to sell children's products in the US?
Short answer: Toys and Kids' Fashion need category qualification on TikTok Shop US. Manufacturers, importers and repackers may be asked for a CPC and a test report from a CPSC-accepted lab, each issued within the last 365 days, plus product photos showing the tracking label; resellers send the CPC, a purchase invoice from the last 365 days and tracking-label photos. Separate product compliance requests usually require reports issued within 180 days unless the category says otherwise.

What must the CPC and report show on TikTok Shop?
- Manufacturer or importer name and address
- Date of issue within the last 365 days
- Product details matching the category and listing photos, with a clear description of the tested product
- Date and place of manufacture, and of the most recent compliance test
- Name and address of the CPSC-accredited lab
- All applicable rules (the report must show pass or fail for each)
- English, legible and unaltered

What happens when TikTok Shop requests a test report for a listing?
This is separate from category qualification.
- You get a notification in Manage Your Compliance / Seller Center with the Product ID, category, deadline and required test scope.
- Choose: A submit an existing report (a partner lab may need to validate it, at your cost), B start new testing with a TikTok Shop partner lab, or C decline, which can lead to suspension or removal.
- Reports must usually be issued within 180 days (unless the category says otherwise), match the listing and invoice, and show the same company name and address as the selling account.
Partner labs listed include Eurofins, SGS, UL Solutions, TÜV SÜD, Intertek, QIMA, Bureau Veritas and ACT Lab, among others. TikTok Shop also publishes restricted labs whose reports it may decline, several of them in Shenzhen and Dongguan. Source: TikTok Shop: Partner Laboratories & Testing Guide.
Watch out
What else trips up TikTok sellers of kids' products?
- Choking warnings: products that need a CPSC choking hazard warning must show it in the listing and on the packaging.
- Prohibited items: all beaded teethers (amber, wood, silicone or other materials) can't be sold in Kids' Fashion.
- eFiling: TikTok reminds sellers they are responsible for CPSC import and eFiling obligations.
- Plan around the strictest window: selling on several marketplaces? A report under 180 days old meets the age limits of TikTok requests, Amazon (12 months) and Walmart. See Walmart and Amazon.
