Amazon · Listing reinstatement
Amazon blocked my children's product listing. How do I get it reinstated?
Short answer: Open Performance → Account Health → Policy Compliance → Food and Product Safety Issues, find the ASIN, and supply exactly what Amazon lists: usually a CPC, a passing report from a CPSC-accepted lab (issued within 12 months for toys) and tracking-label photos. Toys go through an Amazon-approved TIC provider who sends the result to Amazon; Eurofins says a passed status normally appears within 1–2 business days after it's sent.
Last verified: October 2026. General information, not legal advice. KidsTestingLabs is an independent directory and guide: we don't test products and never issue or certify Children's Product Certificates. The US importer or US manufacturer is responsible for certifying compliance.
Why it happened
Why do children's listings get suppressed?
Almost always a documentation gap, not a product defect.
- A compliance request wasn't answered by the deadline in Account Health.
- The test report isn't from a CPSC-accepted lab, is older than Amazon allows, or doesn't cover every rule Amazon lists.
- Results show “Fail” or are blank. Amazon's category pages say only “Pass” or “Not applicable” results are accepted.
- Testing was done on prototypes. Amazon accepts only passing reports on production-run products.
- The report, CPC and listing don't match (different product name, model, or company).
- Amazon classified the item as a children's toy based on its age claims, images or marketing.

How to fix it
How do I reinstate the listing, step by step?
- Find the issue. Seller Central → Performance → Account Health → Policy Compliance → Food and Product Safety Issues. Note the ASIN, policy name and required documents. Requests can also appear under Manage your compliance → Product compliance requests.
- Check the category. Children's toys, children's jewelry and clothing storage units use Amazon Direct Validation. Other children's categories are submitted from Account Health.
- Collect the documents listed for that policy (table below). Make sure the product name, model and company match across the report, CPC and listing.
- Submit. Direct Validation: click Submit → Verify your product, create the Test Request Form, choose a TIC provider, and send them your existing documents (verification) or samples (testing). Other categories: click Submit next to the ASIN and upload everything requested.
- Monitor. Track the status in Account Health and keep the provider's report and correspondence.
- Wrong category? If the product isn't a children's product, use Amazon's appeal option instead of testing.

Documents
Which documents does Amazon list for common kids' categories?
From Amazon's US category help pages.
| Category | Documents Amazon lists | How to submit |
|---|---|---|
| Children's toys | CPC; CPSC-accepted lab report issued within the previous 12 months covering ASTM F963-23 and phthalates; tracking label; 16 CFR 1501 for under-3 toys | Direct Validation via a TIC provider |
| Children's jewelry | CPC; CPSC-accepted lab report for CPSIA lead, phthalates and cadmium; tracking label; product images | Direct Validation (added Sept 2026, per Eurofins) |
| Children's sleepwear | CPC; CPSC-accepted lab report (flammability rules such as 16 CFR 1610/1611/1615/1616 as applicable, CPSIA lead and phthalates, small parts as applicable); tracking label; labeling evidence | Account Health submission |

Speed
How can I speed up reinstatement?
- Answer before the deadline: SGS notes products that aren't validated may be removed and delisted.
- Send one complete package. Missing labels, instructions or certificates are a common cause of delay (Eurofins).
- If you need new testing, ask labs for quotes at the same time; standard CPSIA testing usually takes 1–3 weeks (Compliance Gate).
- Fix the listing itself: keep age claims consistent across packaging, images and the detail page (Eurofins).
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How long does Amazon take to reinstate a children's listing?
It depends on whether you need new testing. With Direct Validation, Eurofins says a passed status normally appears in Seller Central within 1–2 business days after the provider sends it to Amazon.
Can I upload my own documents for a toy?
No. For toys, Amazon's Direct Validation means the approved TIC provider reviews your documents or tests samples and submits the result directly to Amazon.
Will my factory's test report work?
Only if it's from a CPSC-accepted lab, passed, used production samples, matches your exact product, and supports a CPC issued by you. Reports for other products or other companies are often rejected.
Do I need to retest if my report is 14 months old?
For Amazon toys, yes in practice: Amazon asks for a report issued within the previous 12 months. CPSC's default periodic testing interval is also at least once a year.
Amazon says my product is a toy, but it's for adults. What now?
Use the appeal option in Account Health, and make sure the listing doesn't present the item as being for children (age claims, kid models, cartoon play imagery).
